How to pronounce“octet”in English

The octet rule says atoms like eight Electrons in their outermost state.

Oxygen obeys the octet rule, and that move would give it ten electrons!

That is called the octet rule, cause atoms want to complete their octets of electrons to be happy and satisfied.

It doesn’t follow the octet rule, and tends to form neutral compounds with three covalent bonds.

Oxygen has six electrons in its octet, and needs two, which is why we get H2O.

But compared with having a full octet, it’s not that big of a deal.

So yeah, the whole octet thing is really more of a gentle nudge than a rule.
